Christian Hope

Old Testament saints hoped for God's Messiah, a Redeemer who would appear at Mount Zion in Jerusalem. Immanuel, the Word who was with God, became flesh and dwelled in Israel. Many of His own rejected and crucified Him (Isa 7:14, John 1:14). "and He saw that there was no man, and was astonished that there was no one to intercede; then His own arm brought salvation to Him, and His righteousness upheld Him" Isa 59:16. After God raised His Christ from the dead, He "seated Him at His right hand" in heaven (Eph 1:20). This was spoken about by David, who wrote "YHWH says to my Lord, 'Sit at My right hand until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet' " (Psalm 110:1).
The New Testament saints hope for Christ's return when He will resurrect believers and destroy His enemies; "I looked, and there was no one to help, and I was astonished and there was no one to uphold; so My own arm brought salvation to Me, and My wrath upheld Me" Isa 63:5. Jesus Christ is returning. Having believed God's testimony of Jesus Christ and having confessed His Name, our hope is that we who have died to ourselves in Him will also be raised from the dead as He was.
also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will, to the end that we who were the first to hope in Christ would be to the praise of His glory Eph 1:11-12.
